My Life as a Chimney Sweep

*I've moved, and my posts have come with me! Check out my new blog at www.jeffrey-davis.net/blog/*

...at least that's the way it's seemed the past 3 days! I so thoroughly enjoyed putting up Christmas lights with my dad while growing up that I swore when I had a home of my own it would have lights on every eave at Christmas time! This year I accomplished it. Here are some pics of my adventure:

The most BEAUTIFUL sunset I've ever seen!! This shot was taken from the tip top of my roof 2 nights ago.

More of the same sunset:

Chim Chimminy Chim Chimminy Chim Chim Cha Roo...

Finally done!!! How does it look?

It looks fantastic! Man, you had a lot of rooftop work in there.

I've stuck to just doing the balustrade on the front of the house. I'm too afraid of heights to do otherwise, or allow my husband to do otherwise.

Do you know what builder built your house? It looks very much like a Phillips/Beazer floorplan we almost bought.

hey thanks for the compliment! Yeah, alot of rooftop work was involved. Luckily, I rock climb, so I just put on my harness and tied myself off so if I fell off the top I'd catch just as if I fell off a rock wall.

Yes, it is a Phillips/Beazer home. We have the most wonderful cul-de-sac and God totally provided for this awesome little first home for my wife and I!

hey, if ya want, send some pics of ur house all lit up and I'll throw em on here too.

That's taking the Jesus' words "you are the light of the world" literally :)

Looks great man!

ha ha. thanks man. I wish I could say that those words of Jesus were the motivation behind the lights from the beginning. I can at least say that as I sat on my front porch, smoking a wonderful Nicaraguan cigar (that a friend brought back for me), and enjoying the lights that were finally up, the Spirit of God did call those words of Jesus to mind and brought me to an awesome time of worship right there on the front porch.

What a cool God we have...

I love that floorplan, and it is an awesome house. I'm so glad for you. It's very cool that you can use it to God's glory.

And I'll send pictures once I actually get the lights up. That could be awhile...;=p

lol, no probelm.

Yeah, it was God who truly provided for this wonderful little home, and it is our commitment to serve him with it. So if you're ever in the hermitage area around Christmas and need a place to stay--just look for the glow (from the lights) and come on in! Lol.

Maybe we'll get a little virtual Christmas light gallery going on here...
